Columbia Gorge

This is a 9 x 12” watercolor painted in the Columbia Gorger over President’s Day weekend at the Skamania Lodge. I went down to the lobby of the Lodge to paint this scene of the Columbia River Gorge. It was in the low 40's outside so I was going to paint indoors, but all the seating was full. So I had to paint on a bench outside in just a T-shirt. It was cold so I painted a fast as I could go. This took me about an hour.

  1. This is magnificent, Mike! Maybe we should all paint in t-shirts in the freezing cold?!?

  2. Looks like a great view to paint from!
